ftp-proxy software package provides application level proxy for the FTP protocol, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install ftp-proxy
ftp-proxy is installed in your system.
Make ensure the ftp-proxy package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep ftp-proxy *
You will get with ftp-proxy package name, version, architecture and description in a table
